Welcome to the Kollector's Korner. This is a part of The Trickman Times where you can see my latest
and greatest acquisitions. Usually this entails an item or items of retro-gaming significance, but it's not
limited to that in any way. I will usually give a brief description of the item, it's significance and a
general source for these as well. Enjoy!

Turbografx-16 games
King of Casino
Final Lap Twin
World Court Tennis
Davis Cup Tennis
Super Volleyball
I'm a pretty avid Turbografx-16/TurboDuo collector, so it's strange that I never picked these up before.
Nonetheless, I found them recently for $5 a piece at (ready for this?) Best Buy. Wait...Best Buy?!
Within the last 6 months or so, my local Best Buy has been putting out some old games that people
have traded in for newer stuff. This is the first time I've ever seen them carry Turbografx titles, though.
Pretty amazing, since any old game dealer by me doesn't even carry a halfway decent Turbo
collection. I had to clean up the cases a bit, but they were otherwise pristine, even sporting the inner
HuCard sleeve for each game.
Gunbird 2 - Dreamcast
This little gem is significant because I was looking to complete acquisition
of a series of shooters that entailed the Gunbird and Castle Shikigami
series. You may or may not know that XS Games (publisher) changed two
series excellent Japanese shooters around for whatever reason and
released two of the titles in America as Mobile Light Force (PS) and Mobile
Light Force 2 (PS2). Both of these were released with the same horrible
cover art (liken to a bad ripoff of Charlie's Angels). But each game in the
American series was from a different shooter series from Japan. What
the...?? As confusing as this is, the same publisher also put out Castle
Shikigami 2 on PS2 just a little while ago. I already knew what this was, and
it was only $10 for a brand new copy, so I quickly snatched it up before it was
gone. Here's where Gunbird 2 for the Dreamcast comes in. Since Gunbird 1
is Mobile Light Force on PlayStation, I knew Gunbird 2 existed on Dreamcast
and I was looking for it for a while. Someone on eBay had a "still in plastic"
copy for sale and I jumped on it. So now I have a complete series of these
shooters until the next release. Still confused?
Here's the breakdown:
Mobile Light Force = Gunbird (Japan)
Mobile Light Force 2 = Shikigami no Shiro [The Castle of Shikigami] (Japan)
Gunbird 2 - Dreamcast released here as is.
Castle Shikigami 2 - PS2: released here with bad American voice acting...I
love it!
What horrible covers!!
Supervision games
This was an incredible find for me because I only had three games for this
rare portable system...and now I acquired 17 more (only one of these was a
duplicate) and they were unopened! I picked them off a guy from eBay. I love
the names of some of these games...hilarious!
The list of these is as follows:
  1. Thunder Shooting
  2. Hero Hawk
  3. Earth Defender
  4. Kitchen War
  5. Pyramid
  6. Bubble World
  7. Magincross
  8. Fatal Craft
  9. Kung Fu Street
  10. Untouchable
  11. Tennis Pro '92
  12. Happy Race
  13. Matta Blatta
  14. Challenger Tank
  15. Tasac 2010 (duplicate...I had this one already)
  16. Delta Hero
  17. SSSnake

New Years Loot!
'80s records
console games
comics
and more!
Over the weekend, there were many finds and acquisitions...way more than normal, so I thought I'd
share a pic of the spread before diving into it all. Thanks to Savory Cade for providing some of this
awesome treasure. The rest was found at a few regular stores with sales, and one incredible store
that sells used and out-of-print games, books, comics, records, etc. that only opened up 6 weeks
ago, found by Kristine.  Notable finds: All 20 issues of the Atari Force comic series in plastic, Neo Geo
Pocket Color, link cable, and NGPC games -- Samurai Shodown 2, King of Fighters R2, The Match of
the Millenium: SNK vs. Capcom (sealed), and the Last Blade 2 in the plastic case (rare). I was also
able to pick up Loco Rocco for $19 (currently selling for $39 everywhere else). I'm a sucker for sales!
